Brendan Loughlin, self taught artist and developer of a revolutionary painting medium he has named “PASTAC”, paints and teaches art classes in Guilford, CT.

Experimenting with chalk pastels during a trip to Canada, Loughlin began using a commercially produced and widely used shellac called BIN which doesn’t dull colors as other fixatives do.

Pastac is a method combining chalk pastels, commerical painter's tints, and BIN shellac to create fresco-like works of art. Pastac paintings are a joy to master, easily applied to almost any surface, a cinch to repair or correct, and highly addictive.
